One Sweet Table

I want to share this really sweet idea with you. My friend Lynnae created this wonderful sweet/candy table for our Teacher Appreciation Lunch held during the first week of May. It was so beautifully arranged. She framed a scrapbook page that read “Thanks for a Sweet Year”. That was placed in the center of the table which was surrounded by bowls of candy – all types of candy, which were labeled for identification. She also used flowers in pots, in which she included long swirled candy lollipops. Wheat grass plants were dressed up with edible flower lollipops. The bowls that contained non-wrapped candy had cute little garden like scoopers with red bows on the handles. She even had plastic bags available, with pre-cut red ribbons, so that the teachers could fill a bag of their favorite candy and tie it with the bow. The attention to detail was amazing – as is Lynnae, who has been blessed with amazing talent and creativity. Below are some pictures of this beautiful table.

One mom that was helping with our luncheon said she was going to make a table like that for her child’s birthday party. That sounded like a great idea. Kids love candy, and it would take care of the treat bags that are usually given out at birthday parties. It also got me thinking – thinking that this idea could be modified to fit a variety of occasions. This table had a spring theme. But, if you were hosting a party for Valentines, or Easter, or Christmas, or a Fall Party, you could change it up a bit and use candy that is usually available and sold during the different holidays. (i.e. chocolate hearts, chocolate Easter eggs, chocolate snowmen, chocolate pumpkins – I’m seeing a chocolate theme here.) You could even make your own scrapbook page with a verse and frame it to fit the occasion. Possibly something like, “Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, The stuff on this table is as sweet as you” or “Walking in a Winter Candy Land”. Yeah I know. That was pretty lame. Don’t frame those verses. But, do explore your options for modifying the table to fit your occasion. Anyway, see the cute pictures below.
