The Perfect Wedding Gift – Unique Wedding Gift Ideas

Are you tired of buying the same old boring gifts for a wedding?  Looking to buy something a little more exciting than a toaster, roaster or iron?  Well, I thought I would share a few ideas for wedding gifts that the bride and groom are sure to enjoy and remember.  Knowing a little about what the bride and groom like, will help you create a special gift.

Holiday Decorations – Help the happy couple get started on decorating their home for the holidays.  Buy decorations for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  And, if you start planning early, you can get some end of the season clearance items and stretch your dollar to get them quite a nice selection of Holiday Home Décor.

A Garden of Love – If the couple will be starting out in a home rather than an apartment, a gift of various gardening/lawn supplies along with a gift certificate to a local nursery might be nice.  Be creative on how to package your gift; include a note that says “Planting seeds of love”.

A Wine Basket – Maybe wine glasses are on their registry list.  To make this gift a little more creative, add a nice bottle opener, and some nice wine choices, maybe even a membership to a wine club. You can add cheese and crackers too.

Recipe Collection – You can give the couple a recipe box filled with your family’s favorite recipes.  (I received a recipe box for my wedding shower and I still use those recipes now, 26 years later.) Maybe even add a good cookbook or some unique cooking gadgets.

The Bathroom Collection – You could buy some of the bathroom towels on their registry and make up a basket that would include some personal bathroom supplies like luxurious soap, cotton balls, hairspray, shampoo, etc.  Or, you could approach it from the cleaning side and put a package together that includes all the essentials for keeping the bathroom nice and tidy.

Date Night – Tell the couple they should never stop dating.  Make a basket that includes a few restaurant gift cards and movie theater tickets.  Depending on what the couple likes, you might consider sporting events, plays, or even certificates to museums or zoos. (Just take special notice of any expiration dates that may be on the certificates you purchase.)

Home Bakery – You could put together a basket that includes cookie sheets, cookie cutters, Bundt pans, cake and loaf pans, parchment paper, powdered sugar, dry cookie mixes, etc.  Add in measuring spoons and measuring cups.

Theme Nights – Maybe create a basket for movie night that includes popcorn, oil, seasonings, bowls, and movies.  How about a pizza night that includes dough mix, pizza sauce and seasonings, pizza cutter and a pizza stone.  Or, a game night that includes some fun games (two of our favorites are Mad Gab and Balderdash) and some fun snacks, and maybe some cool snack dishes.  A Margarita Night might be fun.  A pitcher, some glasses, a margarita mix (or a bottle of tequila), some salt to rim the glasses, and maybe some chips and salsa to go with it.

Pasta, Pasta – Some pasta dishes, a big serving bowl, the big spoon, some pasta sauces, a variety of pastas, some olive oil, a cheese grater, maybe even a pasta roller.  Now that’s Italian!

Keep the love burning – A beautiful antique brass fireplace tool kit, some self-cleaning logs, even a gift certificate to a local nursery so they can buy their own logs to burn.  To make the evening complete, be sure to include some chocolates.

Well there you have it, my ideas for the perfect wedding gift.  These are only a few suggestions to help you get started.  I am sure you can come up with some other really good gift ideas that the happy couple will love and remember.

  2. Hi Anna! Love your blog! I just printed the portobello pizza recipe, and wedding gift ideas. My mom and I are going to a house warming lunch on Monday, so I think I’ll use the game night idea! Thanks!

  4. With a stylish beach wedding theme, don’t use anything but simple, elegant colors like silver,
gold and white and add a touch of blue. If the wedding ceremony invitation relies upon a thing like salt and pepper
shakers, be sure it’s something the wedding party will
get enough items of for an inexpensive price.
