The Next Six Months

Good-bye June.  Good-bye first six months of 2011.  Hello July.  Hello and welcome to the next 6 months of this year.  As we start this second half of 2011, it is a good time to take a moment and reflect.  Reflect on where we are with our goals.  We all made some goals at the beginning of the year, right?  Well, how are we doing?  This 6-month point is a great time to reflect, review, revise, remember and possibly restate what we hope to accomplish.

Were you able to check off some of your goals set for this year?  You can only do that if you actually wrote them down.  So, if you missed that important step the first half of this year, there is no better time than now to write down what you need and want to do the rest of this year.  It will be fun to check items off your list as you do them – that gives you a great sense of accomplishment.  It is also good to look back and see how far you have come.  If you don’t already have one, get a notebook or journal and start your list.

Set your goals and check your progress.  Reflect on areas in your life that need attention.  How are you doing with your health and fitness goals?  (For me, not at all where I had hoped to be.)  How about your finances?  What about your sports, recreation, or hobby goals?  How about your balance of work and family time?  Are there any social relationships that need to be strengthened?  How are you doing spiritually?  Are you serving in areas God has called you to? Did you remember to take some time and get that rest you so need?

Hello July.  Hello journal of goals.  Glad to see you both.  New day, new month, new goals, new chances, new accomplishments.  Reflect, review, revise, remember, restate.  But most importantly, rely.  Rely on Him.  “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
