Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats

You might already have this recipe in your collection, but just in case you don’t, I want to share it with you because it’s one of my quick and easy favorites.  My family loves Rice Krispies Treats, and we love peanut butter.  This recipe combines both and it is super quick and super easy to make.  I thought you might want to whip up a batch for the upcoming holiday weekend.  You and your guests will love these.

You will need:

1 cup white sugar

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup peanut butter

6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

Pour the cereal into a large bowl.  (Make sure the bowl is large enough so that you can thoroughly stir the mixture.)

In a medium sauce pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, heat the sugar and corn syrup over a low heat until sugar is completely dissolved.  Add the peanut butter and heat till melted and smooth.  Remove from heat.

Pour the heated mixture over the cereal and mix well.

Press into a 13 x 9 pan sprayed with cooking spray.  (Note:  I use a spatula sprayed with cooking spray to press the mixture into the pan and to cut into squares.)

Cut into squares while still warm.  Enjoy!
