Turkey Burgers

Here’s my recipe for turkey burgers. They are really simple to make and oh so flavorful. This is one of my family’s favorite foods for summer grilling. While we all agree that these are the best turkey burgers around, we don’t all agree on what to top them with. I like mine with hot pepper cheese, tomato, avocado, and mayo. Rich doesn’t like cheese on his burgers, but tops them with lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, ketchup, and Koop’s spicy brown mustard. Elizabeth likes hers with American cheese, ketchup, mustard, tomato, and avocado. Whatever you top yours with, I know you will love these burgers.

This recipe makes 8 Turkey Burgers.

You will need:

2 lbs. ground turkey

One very large handful of baby carrots

1/4 of a medium size red onion

3 garlic cloves, minced

Place the ground turkey in a large mixing bowl.

Carrots – I buy a bag of baby carrots because they are easier to chop and I can eat the ones I don’t use as a snack. I just grab a large handful of the baby carrots and chop them with my Pampered Chef Chopper, but any hand chopper will do.

Onion – Slice off a quarter of the red onion and chop it the same way as the carrots, using your hand chopper.

Add the chopped carrots, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the ground turkey and mix well. Form into 8 patties.

Grill over medium heat until cooked thoroughly.

Serve with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
