I know most of you probably have this recipe somewhere. But, if you are like me, sometimes out of sight is out of mind. I had forgotten about this tasty treat until I had it last weekend during our camping trip (which I wrote about in “Family”). This stuff is so good. I tried to find out how it got its name, but the details provided seemed more like guesses. Anyway, that’s not important.
This is a very yummy, addicting, sweet treat. I think it would be a nice snack to have on hand this holiday weekend. It will definitely be a hit.
You will need:
9 cups of Rice Chex cereal
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup of creamy peanut butter (I use Jif)
1 stick of butter (8 TBSP)
2 cups powdered sugar
Pour the cereal into a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
Spray a medium sauce pan with cooking spray and melt the butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips over medium heat until smooth.
Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and mix thoroughly.
Put half the mixture in a large Ziploc bag; add one cup of the powdered sugar and shake until coated. Repeat process for the remaining mixture.
Store in a covered container. Enjoy!
